Rear View Mirror Fell Off Ball Joint

Rear view mirror fell off ball joint. Unfortunately i still have the broken plastic ball socket to deal with. I cannot get the mirror to go back on the ball joint. The traffic seems unusually light this morning. I had to attach my rear view mirror that fell off.
